SOSİAD-Refrigerating Industry Businessmen Association Traditional Refrigerators Dinner was held at Tüyap Palas Hotel on Friday, October 4, as part of the ISK-SODEX Istanbul Fair. Making the opening speech of the dinner where representatives of non-governmental organizations, the sectoral press and the refrigeration industry came together, SOSIAD Board Member Hayati Can said, “For their participation in the Traditional Refrigerators Dinner, ISIB President Mehmet Şanal, ISKAV President Taner Yönetim, İSKİD President Ozan Atasoy, MMO Istanbul Branch Board of Directors. After Can, SOSİAD Chairman of the Board Turgay Karakuş said, “ISK-SODEX Fair, which our association has made traditional, welcome to our dinner. Among us is Mr. AREA President Marco Buoni. I thank him for his participation. As it is known, ISK-SODEX, which is the biggest fair in Turkey and one of the few in the world, is the biggest fair of our industry. The air conditioning sector is a large and organized sector with associations and non-governmental organizations. ISK-SODEX Fair, which is an indicator of unity and solidarity, brings together all the components of our industry. I wish this unity and togetherness to be forever. Approximately 45 thousand square meters of area were sold at the fair this year. We have increased this figure compared to last year. Last year, our fair was held for the first time at TÜYAP, we thought that there would be some disadvantages, but it was not as we thought, it went very well. This years fair, on the other hand, was much more productive with foreign visitors and approximately 150 procurement committees compared to last year, and contributions were made to our sector companies through B2B meetings. As SOSİAD, we attach great importance to the ISK-SODEX Fair, and the Refrigerators Dinner, which we have made traditional, is an indicator of the importance we attach to the fair. This meal is a step taken for our unity and togetherness to be permanent, and more will follow," he said. Talking about SOSİAD‘s projects, Karakuş said, “We held our F-Gas Seminar on the developments in Europe and Turkey on the second day of the fair. Mr. Marco Buoni also made a presentation titled ‘Challenges and Opportunities in the Implementation of F-Gas Regulation‘ at the seminar. In line with the popularization of alternative refrigerants in the Real Alternatives 4LIFE project, which is another of our projects, in March 2019, we carried out the training of trainers at the Friterm Academy. Previously, we sent our expert engineers from the sector abroad and they received the necessary certificates to provide this training. Another project of ours is the Demonstration project; An awareness project showing the comparison of alternative refrigerants with low global warming potential compared to alternative refrigerants with high global warming potential. We have identified three regions for the pilot applications and we will explain their outputs in the seminars we will hold later. As SOSİAD, we also started a social responsibility project called ‘Vocational High School, A Matter for the Nation‘, with the thought that vocational high schools are not given the necessary importance, whereas these schools that provide technical education have a critical importance on the country‘s industry, economy and level of development. With this project, we aimed to raise the awareness of the installation technology department and make it preferable and sustainable. In addition, we signed a protocol with İSMEK together with our foundation and other NGOs and opened İSMEK Air Conditioning School and continued our training activities. Our Press Commission also has some studies; Our association publishes an e-bulletin, which is followed by our Press Commission. At the same time, we strengthen our ties with our members with our football and backgammon tournament” and ended his speech by thanking the industry companies that contributed to the organization of the meal.
